World Book Day

The children in year 1 loved listening to stories shared by some of the older children from year 4. We hope you enjoy some of our photos.

Geography Day

This half term we got to celebrate our first Geography day at Burpham. What fun we all had! The children were challenged with adding an additional feature to our school to make it better. The children had to gather market research, complete fieldwork and make a model and pitch for their ideas.

History/DT

This term the children of year 1 have learnt about 'Why does Guildford have a Castle?'. The Finches and Robins enjoyed learning that Guildford Castle used to be a Motte and Bailey Castle and that it was thought to have been instructed by William the Conqueror. To consolidate our learning of Castles, this terms DT lessons got the children to construct and build there own Castles out of junk modelling. They loved getting messy and making their amazing structures.

In the event of a school closure...

On rare occasions, it may be necessary to close the school. This may be due to adverse weather conditions or perhaps when essential school services cannot be provided –e.g. heating, plumbing or water.

Please refer to the School’s Bad Weather Policy on our website for information regarding how we communicate a school closure.

Class teachers will then initiate home school learning activities, and these will be available to children by 10am of the same morning.

Thank You!
